2,000 Year Old Discovery Reveals New Clue About Death of Jesus

Jesus Christ discoveryA 2,000 year old burial box may reveal the home of Caiaphas, the high priest involved in the crucifixion of Jesus.

The_MummyLooters prevent the revealing of history all the time. Just watch any Indiana Jones movie or even the Mummy which is the poor mans Indiana Jones. Sorry Brendan Fraiser but your no Hans Solo. The Israel Antiquities Authority confiscated am ossuary from looters three years ago and passed it of to Tel Aviv University for authentication. An ossury is a limestone box from ancient times that is placed in a burial site. A few have turned up in the past including one claiming to be Joseph the brother of Jesus. It was later revealed to be a hoax but this latest one is proving to be authentic according to Professor Yuval Goren of Tel Aviv:

“Beyond any reasonable doubt, the inscription is authentic,” Goren said, after conducting a thorough examination of the limestone box, which boasts decorative rosettes in addition to the inscription.

The finding is belived to hold information on Caiaphus, one of the men in charge of Crucifing Jesus. The Inscription on the stone reads: “Miriam daughter of Yeshua son of Caiaphus, priest of Maaziah from Beth Imri.”

jesus-on-the-crossThe Maaziah refers to a clan that was the last mentioned order of 24 orders of high priests during the second temple period, Goren explained. While there are some records of the clan in Talmudic sources that detail their lives after they spread into the Galilee in 70 AD, the reference to Beit Imri gives new insight into the family’s location prior to their migration.

Mel GIbsonThe burial site which house the ossuary is believed to be around the Valley of Elah which is where the battle of legend between David and Goliath took place. Did this guy live in a bad neighborhood or what? Giants bullying little poor people, Priest crucifying our lord? Must have been the projects of the ancient world. It didn’t look like the ghetto in Passion of the Christ? Mel Gibson is usually so accurate… Bit racist though.
